出版物有兩個部分,包含一篇講述1920年代至2020年,珠三角地區不同時空的女性流動過程中相聚或離散的短篇小說,以及作者追尋姑婆足跡和姑婆屋的攝影紀錄,文本和攝影是兩條互相交錯的路線,他們沿著西江水域向東、南方向流動,直至東南亞。
此書為“姑婆屋三部曲”出版計劃之一。
Cold Hearted consists has two parts: a short novel about the coming together and separation of various women across time spaces of the Pearl River Delta region between the 1920s and 2020; secondly, a photographic record of the author following the traces of the gupo (comb sister) and her gupo uk (comb sister house). The text and images flow along two alternating routes, moving in southerly and easterly directions along the waters of the Xijiang River to Southeast Asia.

陳嘉璐出生於廣東,现生活工作于廣州,獲得倫敦藝術大學純藝術學士學位。2016-2017年黃邊站當代藝術研究中心年度研究員,是女子天團(NZTT Sewing Co-op)成員,及“姑婆屋”的“姑婆”。他以關注的對象作為土壤,生長出不同媒介的創作,如裝置、文本和影像,以訴說敏銳細膩的觀察和傷痛。近期關注珠三角地區的早期移民女性—自梳女下南洋的記憶和路線,並將自身的經驗代入,探討人与土地的關係,對消逝的網絡進行追蹤。
CHEN Jialu was born in Dongguan and currently lives and works in Guangzhou. She obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the London University of the Arts (2015). From 2016-2017, she was a researcher at Huangbian Station Contemporary Art Research Center, and she is currently a member of NZTT Sewing Co-op*, as well as a gupo (comb sister) of gupouk (comb sister house). Speaking through her keen and delicate observations as well as forms of trauma, she nurtures material objects of interest as a form of soil from which to grow images and text with a variety of media. Her recent work focuses upon a disappearing network of early 20th century migrant women from the Pearl River Delta. The memories and routes of these ‘Comb Sisters’ who journeyed to Southeast Asia are supplemented with her own experiences as an inquiry into the relationships between individuals and the land.
