The 1Shanthiroad Cookbook brings together a collection of recipes from the community kitchen of 1Shanthiroad Studio/Gallery, compiled and edited by the space’s founding director, Suresh JAYARAM. Featuring recipes from over 70 contributors, including artists, curators, patrons, residents, and the extended family of friends of 1Shanthiroad, the cookbook serves as a portrait of an evolving cultural community. Emerging from and responding to the history and legacy of 1Shanthiroad—Bangalore’s oldest running non-profit residency and arts space—the cookbook frames the kitchen as integral to the site and function of the space, mapping recipes across generations, cultures, and timelines, while anchoring itself in the cultural history of the wider city.

蘇雷什·賈亞拉姆（Suresh JAYARAM）是一位藝術家、藝術史學家、藝術經紀人和策展人，也是印度班加羅爾的非營利藝術空間「訕提路一號畫廊」的創始人。他的創作涉及到城市測繪、歸檔設計和藝術教育等領域。賈亞拉姆曾在班加羅爾美術學院教授藝術史，並於2005年至2007年期間擔任該學院院長。

Suresh JAYARAM is an artist, art historian, arts administrator, and curator. He is also the founding director of 1Shanthiroad Studio/Gallery, a non-profit arts organisation based in Bangalore, India. His practice involves urban mapping, archiving, and arts education and he previously taught art history at the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishat in Bangalore, where he was also the Dean between 2005 and 2007.
