Even though she's been lucky enough to fly quite a few times in her life, today there are two firsts for PORTABLE's journey: first, free usage of on board wi-fi, and second, discovering that she can use frequent flyer miles in exchange for purchasable food (2,100 miles redeemed for a small bottle of mixed varietal red wine and a cheese/cracker platter); the flight goes by quickly then, and she arrives at 22:34 with enough energy to save taxi money and take public transport instead

COURIER PORTABLE, still unsure about the situation for unpaid Transportation Security Administration (TSA) workers at airport security, arrives a good two hours early before her flight from Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport to LaGuardia. There are surprisingly no lines at all, and not surprisingly, the flight ends up being delayed, first from a 16:36 departure to 17:47, and just as she clears her boarding pass entering into the raised walkway into the plane, all passengers are instructed to go back as the plane must now 'de-plane'; maintenance issues result in another delay and a gate change, and though passing by too many eateries walking across the terminal, she forgets to think of food; departure finally happens after 18:21, with a very disturbing announcement from the cowboy captain: "We have four of America's finest on board with us just to keep you safe, and we'd like to remind you that failure to comply with them is a violation of federal law"

COURIER POST UPDATE："Unfortunately my friend has not come to Dallas due to financial emergencies. One thing that’s become clear to me, and that I’ve always suspected, is that DFW is a cultural and economic gravity well. It seems like the only people that come here from New York are financial types that want to escape the city and rarely do people travel outside the region. I’m always keeping my eye out for people going there, but haven’t found anybody. I’ll update once I can find someone, or if I’ll have to go there myself which isn't the worst result for me."

It's the last possible moment, but since COURIER PORTABLE does not have many contacts in this region, she makes a last-ditch attempt with the one person she meets before leaving Dallas the next day; it's a blind meet-up with POST, whom she has had previous online contact with in regards to Heatwave, a new leftist periodical that will join the Display Distribute distro soon. Handover meeting conversation revolves around undocumented family life, violent tactics of the Dallas police, and lonely, leftist publishing. While POST also currently lacks New York-bound contacts, he is kindly willing to assist in holding the dispatch until a relay is found; dispatch HQL-777 now in holding, relay awaiting.

When courier PORTABLE arrives to the gate with her boarding pass in hand for scanning to board her flight, a jarring alarm sounds, and she is requested to head to the service counter; seeing the hoards of anxious-looking passengers crowded around the gate she is slightly perturbed and worries that she will be displaced from her allotted window seat and stuck in between unpleasant strangers for the next 14-hour haul. At the counter, a slim and expressionless Qatar airlines staff member takes her boarding pass and immediately begins clicking on his keyboard without a word; she begins to whine, 'Please don't move my seat, sir, I specifically requested a window seat', after which he finally looks up and snidely remarks, 'Oh, would you like to be put back in economy?' She is meant to feel sheepish and does, but of course sucks it up and heads to a new seat in business class, fitted with branded pyjamas and a glass of champagne.

PORTABLE is travelling for the first time to South America, taking a circuitous route over the Middle East and Europe to get to São Paulo; it is a 26 hours' long flight in total, also the longest she has ever taken. But before her flight, personal couriering duties still plague her, and she spends the hours before going to the airport returning her flat in Hong Kong to the landlord and transporting plants to a friend's house for care until she finds a new flat; she departs Hong Kong in a semi-homeless state, but with two bags filled with publications for sharing along the way; included are the contents of dispatch HQL-777, without a clear path to New York, but with hopes of meeting friends along the way. Scheduled departure from Hong Kong International Airport at 19:40 is slightly delayed.
