The film documents COURIER Ms. LIN and COURIER PORTABLE's failed attempts to contact the curators of the Bata Shoe Museum in Toronto to donate their self-built smuggler shoes to its collection. COURIER Mr. MACLAREN will bring the shoes to the museum and offer them on behalf of 展銷場 DISPLAY DISTRIBUTE and Ms. LIN.

We are Display Distribute, an art collective based between Hong Kong and Guangzhou, and we writing to you in relation to an art work and project that we are currently developing between Guangzhou, China, and Brussels, Belgium. To be brief, we self-produced a pair of smugglers' shoes inspired by the wooden clogs that are also part of the Bata Museum collection. These shoes have made their own clandestine journey, travelling with our courier Yezi Lin (in cc) and two cans of China-produced Belgium beer to take part in an exhibition at the project space Winona in Belgium. We have documented this journey as dispatch "HQL-662", one of the many dispatches that run with our self-organised LIGHT LOGISTICS network. The shoes made it successfully to Belgium (the beer did not), but it was only later while processing our documentation that we discovered the "Exhibit A: Investigating Crime & Footwear" exhibition taking place at the museum, and we were delighted to find the many similarities of theme and interest between our endeavours. While the exhibition has already ended, we are writing to you with this modest hope that our contemporary version of smugglers' shoes may be of interest for long term archiving in your collection.

A while ago, before Reverse Action was screened, I met a lady from Toronto, I talked to her about the project, then she posted a story to ask if there is anyone know people from Bata Museum.
Today she sent me this, Bata museum replied her!!
